Everyone loves cake. Some of us get cake whenever we want; many of us work very hard for the rare reward of cake. Cake can be the very symbol of being happy. This body of sculpture and installations attempts through illusion to capture this mood, through a process of observation and confrontation, using acrylic medium and suggestive objects. Cake as a state of being is not easily attained, as the works of art demonstrate. Yes, you may have your reward, if you can embrace the diverse difficulty that most of us face daily. If you can, you have truly earned your cake.
